When you come into my house, more than likely you will find really nice products in my bathroom. On the other hand, if you know anything about me, you know I like to save money where at all possible. How do I do this and use luxury bathroom items is a question I get a lot. So here are some of my bathroom hacks.
Just a few frugal tips and secrets as to how I use luxury products on the cheap.
I only condition my hair once a month. That keeps my hair from getting greasy. I shower every other day unless I am exerting and getting dirty somehow, that’s how I save on water and bath products.
A loofa or bath sponge of some sort, or even a wash rag, will help you use less body wash and/or soap. Put just a drop on it, add water and suds away! Believe it or not, this hack works for bar soap too!
Shop end of season changes and outlet stores, and stock up when you see stuff on sale, even if it’s not your first choice of scent. Examples: My favorite scent at Bath and Body Works just re packaged so everything that was in the old packaging went down to $3, I bought 4 of them and one will last me 2-3 months. Kroger had a sale on head and shoulders, I bought the two in one smaller bottles for $3, normally $10.
Clearence isles and baskets are your friend. Always check clearance aisles, and sales, and stocking up when they are on sale even if you already have a stockpile saves you money in the long run, and allows you to use luxury products even in those times that you may not have extra money.
Scour the internet for free samples, and message your favorite companies asking for coupons and samples. Keep in mind – a legit freebie site will never ask you for your credit card number or payment information. There are a lot of sites that are willing to send you samples and coupons. Sometimes they have coupons, sometimes samples, sometimes neither, but it never hurts to ask.
Freelance write, and build yourself a social media following. I know this one is easier said than done, however it literally pays to speak your mind. There are hundreds of sites out there that will not only send you products in exchange for social media posts, but there are even siters out there that will PAY you for your opinion. You don’t even necessarily have to have a blog, just a strong social media presence on a popular platform (like Instagram, X (formally Twitter), or Facebook) or even Tik Tok or Youtube is enough for most companies for them to send you products. If you feel like you want to dip your feet into the blogging world, more than likely you know someone who is a blogger, and more times than not, they will be willing to let you pop up a blog or two and freelance write for them in exchange for the content on their site.
