I love gift cards. What I don’t love is how most gift cards are generic and don’t give you the opportunity to personalize them and make the recipient feel like they are getting a thoughtful gift and not just a piece of plastic.

The process of getting the card is super easy.  You just pick out your gift card, the amount you want to put on the card, the design you want on the card, type in all the information, and boom – you loved one will receive a custom card with a picture of your/their choosing on it!

They sent me a custom Visa gift card with a picture of my husband and I on it and I could not have picked a better picture for the card!  The picture is not grainy, colors are bright, and the cropping is exactly how I sent it and is the exactly same size and texture as my other gift cards.

You can even pick out an e gift card if you’d rather go that route!

This is an amazing gift, especially for those who are super picky to shop for.

L.A. Girl Shockwave Eyeliners | Review

Trying to find a new eyeliner that stays put? Check out the L.A. Girl Shockwave eyeliners.

I have always had a love affair with cosmetics. When I was young my grandma would sit down every day and put her makeup on, and I always sat and watched in awe. It didn’t matter if she wasn’t going anywhere that day- she wasn’t ready to conquer the day until her face was on. I live my life by the same philosophy. I don’t wear makeup for anyone other than myself, and it gives me the confidence to slay the day away. 

The problem for me is finding products that actually stay put all day! It’s harder than you would think, especially eye products for me. I tend to have oily eyelids, so even long-wear products tend to not really be long-wear for me. Eyeliners are especially difficult for me to find.

Recently I was able to try out L.A. Girl Shockwave Liners, and I had very little hope that these would stay put through me slaying the day away because of previous experiences with other brands’ metallic formulas. I shouldn’t have been so pessimistic. This eyeliner is simply the best metallic liner I have ever tried, and once it is set- it stays all day until you wash it off. It doesn’t smear all over my eyes even after 8 hours of wear. I also really loved the pigment and ease of application on these eyeliners. They go on so smoothly and really add a pop of color wherever you put them.

Gary LeVox’s Debut Christian EP, One on One, was released Friday, May 21st and fuses two of his biggest passions – music and faith.  The EP even features a duet with his sweet daughter, Brittany, who is also a singer/songwriter.

When asked about the role God has played in his musical journey, LeVox said,

“I feel like God graced us with a platform where we can not only touch people’s lives through music, but by being men of God offstage too,” explained LeVox. “At those times when we are with fans that are going through something like cancer, it is so wonderful to not only sing for them but to hold their hand and pray with them. I want them to know that they have a friend in me. I’m not just some guy on the stage. I feel like Christ has put me in this position because He knew I could handle the obligation, which often means taking the time to lift someone up in prayer.”

Kala Women’s Sandal by Kuru Footwear Review

Introduction

Summer is here – which means it’s time for comfy sandals!  If you’re anything like me, you have tried every type of sandal out there and are just not happy with them.  The cheap ones dig in between your toes and the soles are beyond uncomfortable.  The expensive brands are good, don’t get me wrong, but most of them don’t hold up under the weight of a big girl like myself.

Enter Kuru Footwear.

While Kuru is made for athletes, it is also great for everyday wear.  These sandals have an amazing sole on them that is easy on your foot, and also helps with pain.  I have chronic pain and I really can tell a difference when I wear these sandals – at the end of the day my lower back aches less and I find myself wanting to go more at the end of the day and not just wanting to lay in bed when I get home from a long day of walking.

Wiley Wallaby Licorice Review

G’day, Mates!  Misty here, bringing you a fruity licorice review from the land down under!

If you are a licorice lover like I am – this is the review for you.  As you can see by my photo, I was not even able to contain my excitement when Wiley Wallaby sent me their fruit licorice and was unable to get a picture of them before my husband and I opened every single flavor.

Let me be honest, I can’t get enough of this licorice.  I love all the flavors I was sent, but my favorite is the Huckleberry and the Green Apple flavors.

What I also love about Wiley Wallaby is they also offer an Organic Line.  The pieces are smaller and they do come in smaller bags, however the flavor is still amazing and just as good, if not better, than their original licorice flavors.  My favorite out of the flavors I was sent is the Tropical Bites.

They also offer black licorice for those of you who are black licorice lovers, but I will leave those for those who are fans of black licorice.

Today’s topic might be sensitive for some.  At least, that’s the way it is for me.  Gingivitis, IE bleeding gums.  It is not a fun subject, but it is a necessary topic to talk about that a lot of people have to deal with, including myself.

What is gingivitis?

Gingivitis is a common and mild form of gum disease (periodontal disease) that causes irritation, redness and swelling (inflammation) of your gingiva, the part of your gum around the base of your teeth. It’s important to take gingivitis seriously and treat it promptly. Gingivitis can lead to much more serious gum disease called periodontitis and tooth loss.

I have tried many, many different products that claim to help with gingivitis with no avail.  The only thing that seemed to help with prescription strength toothpaste that was super expensive and you can only get at the dentist.

Enter The Natural Dentist.

The Natural Dentist was kind enough to send me their Peppermint Twist Antigingivitis/Antiplaque Rinse, Peppermint Twist Antigingivitis/Antiplaque Toothpaste with Fluoride and their Peppermint Twist Antigingivitis/Antiplaque Toothpaste without fluoride for me to try.

All of these products are so amazing.  They have aloe vera in them and they make brushing a more pleasurable experience rather then it feeling like I am brushing with sand paper.  They have aloe vera in them, which is a natural antibacterial and helps minimalise inflammation.

As far as if they actually work?  Absolutely.  They are working for me.  I am visibly noticing a lot less pink when I brush my teeth, as well as a lot less sensitivity when I am eating and drinking as well as the pleasant taste lingering in my mouth, but not ruining whatever I eat with an overpowering peppermint taste in my mouth like I have had happen in the past with peppermint toothpastes.

BubbleBum Review

My husband and I are the blessed parents of a six-year daughter old and a set of four-year-old twins.  And we LOVE to travel.  I mean LOVE to travel.  But travelling with three kids in safety seats is challenging at best.  We want to make sure that our children are safe while we are in the car, whether we are just heading up the street or on an adventure to the mountains.  Car seats and booster seats are bulky at best, and can prove cumbersome, especially if you are travelling on an airplane.  I remember a particularly awkward trip from Georgia to Montana, rolling two car seats across the airport terminal on luggage carts.  I’m pretty sure at least one of the twins tipped over at one point during the journey.  Thankfully, there were no lasting injuries. Chocolate Girl was founded by Shelley Meche’tte and her daughters. They are dedicated to going above and beyond the typical beauty services to ensure all of their customers are satisfied and their line of lip glosses have been created to provide suitable lip colors for melanin women who are often failed by the beauty industry even in 2021.

I have refused to support and purchase multiple large cosmetics brands due to their treatment of women of color and I always do extensive research on brands before purchasing from them so I knew Chocolate Girl was exactly the type of company I want to support.

Shelley was kind enough to send me a few of their glosses to check out.

I INSTANTLY fell in love with Purple Reign. This soft purple is STUNNING and I can never pass up a stunning bold color like that. The picture above does not do Champagne justice, it’s a stunning light pink color which is perfect for if you want to tone down a look. I tend to love bold but I will never pass up having something subtle and traditional in my collection. Clear Ice brings me INSTANTLY back to high school when I exclusively wore clear lip gloss only and it was a very nice trip down memory lane. It’s also perfect for when you want your lips to be moisturized with a clear finish.

I am very happy with Chocolate Girl, all of their glosses contain Vitamin E and Coconut Oil. I tend to have very dry lips living in New England so Vitamin E and Coconut Oil help keep my lips moisturized and looking their best. I truly am obsessed with their shade Purple Reign.
