Stuckey’s Father’s Day Unboxing & Review

About Stuckey’s:
If you’re of an age to remember tourist camps, Burma Shave signs, and two-lane blacktops – or even gas lines, Pintos, and crackling AM radio — chances are you remember the sprawling Stuckey’s empire: A venerable roadside oasis — and a highway heaven of souvenirs, cold drinks, hot snacks, and pecan candy — marked by the pitched roof and teal blue shingles.

Who could forget the pecan divinity, flavored pecans, and most of all the celebrated Stuckey’s Pecan Log Roll, a heavenly inspired creation of Mrs. Ethel Stuckey herself? Based on a secret mix of powdered sugar, white molasses, and roasted nuts, that mouth-watering miracle of fluffy white sweetness covered in its own deep coating of crushed select pecans became the soul and spirit of the store and the number one reason for families to stop… well, along with using the restrooms, gassing up the car, and having a snack and a soft drink, of course.

Soon after our founding, however, Stuckey’s became more than a pecan log roller. From the late 30’s to the early 70’s, the teal blue roof was as famous then as the golden arches are today. Read more

Soap Cauldron Unboxing & Review

About Soap Cauldron

Our company, Soap Cauldron is the creative ground from which all our soap creations originate. We are family owned and operated and located in beautiful Northern California and we’ve been making natural herbal soaps in small batches for our family and friends as the Three Sisters Apothecary and Soapy Tails brands since 1999. The art of alchemy best describes what we do. Our handcrafted bar soaps are made in the time-honored tradition of the first soap guilds of 7th century Europe. Now just as it was then each bar is handmade in small batches with only natural botanicals, pure essential oils and gourmet butters. From the early recipes coveted by these guilds, these beneficial ingredients nourish and support skin daily.

We incorporate ingredients from nature into our cauldron and transform them into nourishing and gentle soaps that gently cleanse and pamper the skin. We know that in this fast-paced world the simplicity of nature is often forgotten. We bring back that reverence for nature with our products. The natural plant oils we select are pure and chosen for the unique properties they impart to our bars. These oils are gently heated with finely ground nurturing botanicals that will infuse their benefits to the finished soap bar.

What makes our brand unique:

  • We are community based, and family owned. We care about transparency and simplicity.

  • We use only natural ingredients which is why we only make anhydrous (oil based) products.

  • Our products are made naturally and packaged environmentally with the smallest carbon footprint possible.

Troopster Unboxing & Review

About Troopster

Troopster launched Thanksgiving Day in 2015, by U.S. Navy Petty Officer Chelsea Mandello while she was still serving active-duty as a Navy Photojournalist. The site was created to give friends and family of deployed service members a more natural way to send their soldiers care packages, but without facing any of the trouble of actually shopping or packing themselves.

The story began nearly two-years before while Mandello was serving aboard her seventh ship during an 11-month deployment to the Fifth Fleet area-of-operations. Forward-deployed and serving a mission against anti-piracy, Mandello like others rarely received mail.

Care Packages, when delivered, was a unique commodity that increased morale and overall wellbeing. Rather than eating unsatisfying, over-processed foods or standing in line to a convenient store style market, those that received care packages could enjoy rare items such as Folgers coffee, Fragrant Downey laundry detergent, photos and letters from loved ones, healthy foods.

The problem though was that when care packages did arrive, often-times items had gone expired, melted or wasn’t needed or useful. Many times care boxes that were received were thrown away, despite the heartache that this caused. Mandello coined care packages such as these ‘Heartbreak Boxes.’

Mandello, having experienced her own heartbreak box, realized that there should be a better option for those who wanted to help their deployed troops. While still serving active duty, but with a lot of determination Mandello began working early mornings, nights, lunch-breaks and weekends establishing what would later be Troopster.

BumpBoxes January 2020 Unboxing & Review

About Bump Boxes

We are Christine & Leland, founding parents of Bump Boxes.

It was an amazing feeling when we first found out we would begin our adventure as parents in 2013. We couldn’t wait to bring our daughter into the world! Like all parents, keeping our child safe was our number one priority. It didn’t take long to realize that was going to be harder than we expected!

We quickly learned that tons of the products we used every day were actually full of dangerous chemicals that could potentially harm our little bump. The worst part? Most mommies don’t even realize that these chemicals exist! We decided to dedicate ourselves to finding the safest, most effective pregnancy products and ensuring healthy pregnancies around the world!
