Decorations
Your decor can be as simple or as complicated as you make it. Most Baby Showers I have gone to and thrown we have decorated around the new baby’s gender- blue or pink. One of my favorite Baby Themes though is green or yellow decor with a Jungle Animal theme- because everyone loves animals!
Most decor pieces can be picked up at your local Dollar Store. You can get things like Table Covers, Popup Centerpieces, Candy Dishes, Themed Plates and Silverware, Streamers and Confetti at most stores.
If you are feeling really crafty, have a go at creating a diaper cake as a centerpiece. They make great gifts, and are adorable!
Food
Generally, we chose either simple potluck foods like salads, casseroles, finger sandwiches, cheese platters, and fruit when myself or my family throw baby showers. Not only are these easier to make, but they can be made up ahead of time, and are not very expensive.
You can also do themed foods, like Italian or Mexican Cuisine. Though bear in mind the pregnant mom-to-be might not want to eat foods that could give her heartburn.
Enjoy The Party
Once your invitations are made and sent, decor put up, and food served- just enjoy the party!
A couple of things to keep in mind:
Bring a Pen and Notebook to write down who got the Mom-To-Be a gift, so she knows who to send thank you’s for. You can have a separate area where your guests place all their gifts to keep things less confusing. Place larger gifts such as prams in one place and smaller gifts such as clothes in another area to make things easier to spot. This will make it easier for you to see who got the bride various gifts.
You can plan games if you want to. There are plenty of printables online that can help you plan activities for the Baby Shower.
